Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior in which power and control are used to intimidate a person. This behavior can be progressive and severe regardless of gender, race, education, religion, social or immigration status, developmental disabilities or impediments and/or sexual orientation. This can happen with married couples that may or may not live together.
